The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Ex-computer hacker turned computer safety expert Gregory Evans spoke to students at the College about computer safety and cyber-bullying, which was featured on Fox News.
Empty Bowl Dinner Fundraiser at College Receives Numerous Media Mentions
The annual Empty Bowl Fundraising Dinner for the benefit of Northwest Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network and hosted by the College received recognition in the community from media outlets such as WHYY Newsworks, the Chestnut Hill Patch Web site, the Chestnut Hill Local, and Channel 6 Action News.
The Empty Bowl Dinner was also mentioned in local community calendars such as Philly Fun Guide, Eventful, the Mount Airy Patch Web site, and the National Coalition for the Homeless.
Dr. Thomas E. Legere, an instructor in the School of Graduate Studies was honored by Fordham University with the Sapientia et Doctrina Award, which is given to alumni of the Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education for outstanding contributions to the life of the Catholic Church and its community. Dr. Legere was honored at a ceremony at Fordham University in October.
Philadelphia Brotherly Love Cup and World Cup Bring College Mentions
The College was mentioned in the Chestnut Hill Local and the Colonial for the Philadelphia Brotherly Love Cup hosted by the College in October. The College was also mentioned in a blog of ABC News in preparation for the World Cup this past November.
Alumna Young Kang '65 was featured in an article on The Bucks Local News Web site for her pottery exhibit at the Water Gallery in Lansdale, Pa.
The Chestnut Hill Local covered the memorial and dedication ceremony for alumna Marilyn Vencious '95 SGS, a long-time board member of the Chestnut Hill branch of the Philadelphia Library and local teacher.
A painting by local artist S.D. Schindler was placed in the children's section of the library to honor her memory.
Chestnut Hill alumna Abby Slutsky was featured in The Times Herald for her volunteer efforts for the patients of the Dresher Hospice service.
College Instructor's New Non-Profit "The Joy of Sox" a Hit With Local Media
Adjunct instructor Tom Costello's new non-profit, "The Joy of Sox" received numerous media mentions in the press locally and nationally. KYW-News Radio 1060 did a story on this emerging non-profit, in addition to stories in the Chestnut Hill Local, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and on The Huffington Post's Web site. Channel 6 Action News attended the kick-off event for the Joy of Sox on November 19, and Tom also appeared on the "Your News" program on NBC-10 on Tuesday, November 30th. The story was also covered by Philadelphia Neighborhoods.
A lecture held at the College by Ruth Hartz on her experiences during the Holocaust was mentioned in the Poetry and Lectures section of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Rebecca Howell, a senior at the College, was hired by Teens Inc. as a supervisor. The news was reported in a recent edition of the Chestnut Hill Local.
Time Out for Sports
The Press of Atlantic City reported in their sports wrap-up that women's soccer player Carly DiGiovanni was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year and made the all-conference team.
Jessica Veazey, a member of the women's soccer team, was chosen as a first team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference goalkeeper this fall for the College. The announcement was published in Jessica's hometown newspaper, The Middletown Transcript.

Rotunda, St. Joseph Hall
A long standing tradition at Chestnut Hill College, the 34th annual Carol Night took place on Friday, December 3, 2010 in the Rotunda of St. Joseph Hall.
The holiday celebration included student performances by the Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, the Hill Singers, and String Ensemble. The program featured a lively selection of holiday favorites and a visit from Santa.
In keeping with College tradition, the Rotunda and campus are decorated for the holiday season, courtesy of the undergraduate classes of Chestnut Hill. This holiday decorating tradition, celebrating its 83rd year was started by the first graduating class at Chestnut Hill College in 1927.
