Coach Stroble is in his third year as the head coach for the men's and women's tennis programs. He also serves as an assistant director of athletics and the Griffin camp coordinator. Stroble earned recognition from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) as the 2006 Coach of the Year while coaching at Holy Family University. In 2008, Stroble helped the men’s tennis team to twice as many wins as in 2007, when he directed the women's team to more wins than they had recorded in the last two seasons combined.

 

Stroble's success in coaching stems from a standout collegiate career at Marywood University. As a student-athlete, Stroble was a three-time singles champion in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) and was recognized on the PAC All-Conference First Team from 1997-1999. Stroble received the team's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 1997 and 1999, while also leading Marywood University to their first PAC championship in 1998. He finished his collegiate career at Marywood University with a program record of 36 singles wins. Coach Stroble emphasizes the aspects of the game that made him a successful student-athlete. His coaching philosophy is built on a focus on fundamentals, good conditioning, and dedication, both on the court and in the classroom.

 

A native of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Stroble earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Marywood University in 1999 and in 2001, earned a master's degree in sport and recreation administration from Temple University. He currently resides in Collegeville, Pennsylvania with his wife Erin.

 

Andrew Silverman

Assistant Men's Tennis Coach

Assistant Coach Andrew Silverman joins the Chestnut Hill College tennis programs in 2008. Silverman was a four-year student-athlete at West Chester University of Pennsylvania (WCU). While at WCU, Silverman was a two-year captain for the Golden Rams and he volunteered as an assistant coach during his fifth-year. Professionally, Silverman has additionally worked at Fosslers Cheltenham Tennis Center (FCTC) and as a coach for those with visual impairments in the Philadelphia area and suburbs.

During his collegiate career, Silverman has always embodied the spirit of Division II athletics. While playing at WCU, Silverman served as the Men's Tennis representative to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and served as vice president of SAAC during his fifth-year at WCU. As vice president he helped organized successful fundraisers for the American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" and The Make a Wish Foundation. During his senior year, he was selected as a finalist to represent the Golden Rams at the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Professionally, Coach Silverman has also worked extensively with physically and mentally disabled athletes, primarily focusing on athletes with visual impairments. With FCTC, Silverman has gained many years of experience working with athletes of all age levels. As a tennis instructor and camp counselor at FCTC, he worked extensively for four years with children ages five to 15. He has worked at FCTC for five years and is currently employed there.

Silverman graduated from WCU in 2007 with a bachelor's degree physical education and health with minors in coaching and adapted physical education. He is a native of Southampton, Pa., and currently resides there.

 

Ryan Gargullo

Assistant Men's Tennis Coach

Ryan Gargullo began working as an assistant coach for the Chestnut Hill College tennis programs prior to the 2010 spring season. A 2002 graduate of LaSalle University, Gargullo brings valuable NCAA Division I experience in addition to a coaching resume that includes Fossler’s Cheltenham Tennis Center, the University of Pennsylvania, and his alma mater, LaSalle University.

 

Gargullo is very active in Philadelphia-area tennis, from working with youth players at Fossler’s to assistant coaching stints with the University of Pennsylvania and LaSalle University. Since 2006, he has worked with players at various age levels while serving as an instructor at Fossler’s. In addition to coaching, Gargullo filled many roles for the tennis center including accounting, budgeting, marketing, and customer service. With the University of Pennsylvania, he assisted in player recruitment and budgeting for the men’s team. He fulfilled similar duties for the men’s and women’s programs at LaSalle University after graduating.

 

Gargullo was a three-year captain for the Explorers, consistently performing at number one singles, number one doubles, and number two doubles. He was chosen as the team’s Most Valuable Player three times and was a three-year winner of the University’s Scholar Athlete Academic Achievement Award. He enjoyed similar success in high school as a four-year player at Chestnut Hill Academy.

 

 

Gargullo is certified by the Professional Tennis Registry and resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
