 One of Six; Baseball Preview Philadelphia, PA – (2/1/2010) – All eight starters return to the 2010 baseball roster, as Chestnut Hill College looks to build on the statement year of 2009. The Griffins showed an 11-game improvement in their sophomore season while ranking 5th among Division II institutions in stolen bases and third in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for homeruns. Head Coach Bob Spratt is confident that the Griffins can score runs with their unique blend of speed and power; and with added depth to the pitching staff he expects his team to challenge for a CACC Tournament appearance by playing for all 27 outs. Baseball Wrap Up 2009
Philadelphia, PA – (5/12/09) - Under the tutelage of Head Coach Bob Spratt and his staff, the baseball team has improved from their inaugural season to finish 2009 at 18-25 overall and 13-14 in conference play. Sophomore George Kochu (Pottstown, Pa.) shined as a multi-talented athlete, leading the Griffins in batting average (.349, 51-for-146), hits (51), runs-batted-in (32), and 21 stolen bases. He and freshman right fielder Alex Latchum (Warrington, Pa.) finished among the CACC top 20 in batting and earned All-Conference recognition. More...
