St. Joseph HallThe campus' oldest building, St. Joseph Hall was completed in 1902. The six-story structure features a towered Loire Valley facade and an arched Gothic porte-cochere. It houses classrooms, science labs, offices, residence facilities, an observatory, and a Planetarium. Inside, a Greco-Roman rotunda rises 100 feet from a marble floor. With balconies on four floors and a grand chestnut staircase, it is crowned by a skylight of stained glass.
Fournier HallDedicated in 1928, Fournier Hall houses classrooms, residence facilities, student life facilities, Fournier Chapel, administrative offices, and an indoor swimming pool. Umbrian Romanesque in style, its bell tower, tile roof, and facade recall the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. The interior features Tudor oak paneling and brass-lined marble and terrazzo floors.
The ChapelThe Chapel resides in the Sisters of Saint Joseph motherhouse. It is pure Roman in style, with arcades and Ionic columns. The stained glass windows mark the lineage of the College.
Logue LibraryChestnut Hill College's Logue Library is contemporary in style and was completed in 1961. The resources of Logue Library include a collection of over 130,000 books, 450 subscriptions to periodicals, a cd-rom center, a rare book room, historical archives and subscriptions to scholarly research databases.
Barbara D'Iorio Martino HallDedicated in 2000, this three-level, multi-use building is designed to match the historic architecture of the College. The first floor features the Ann Rusnack Sorgenti Arena, a multipurpose hall used for athletic events, convocations, music recitals and worship services. The area can be configured as a competition-size basketball or volleyball court or divided into two practice courts. The arena can accommodate 450 spectators for athletic competitions or up to 1,300 guests for convocations and performances. The second and third floors house "smart" classrooms and facilities for distance learning and satellite communications. The Devlin Video Production Suite includes a video editing room, video studio and control room. Outside, a beautifully landscaped courtyard serves as a "town square" for the campus.
Fontbonne HallFontbonne Hall harmonizes with the Library in its contemporary architectural style. Fontbonne Hall houses residence facilities and the Independence Blue Cross Fitness Center. Its patio overlooks an old apple orchard and a curve of the Wissahickon Creek that wraps around the campus.
Mary Jackson Fitzsimmons '35 Hall opened in the fall of 2006 as a residence hall for students. Contemporary in design, this multi-story, 155-bed residential space is the newest building on campus to be constructed. The architectural style of Fitzsimmons Hall mirrors existing campus buildings incorporating the same Wissahickon schist and arch details found across the campus.
The Elizabeth Clime Lockyer Merriam '42 Student Center is located on the first floor of Fitzsimmons Hall. This spacious, neo-modern student center is fitted with ultra-modern acoustics, relaxed seating areas with wide-screen HD-TVs, a kitchen area with café tables, and a large, multi-purpose meeting space.
