Checklist for International Students

To apply to Chestnut Hill College, follow these steps: Print the Checklist (PDF)

1. Contact the Global Education Office

The Global Education Office (GEO) is excited to work with you throughout your transition to Chestnut Hill College. Building your personal relationship with us in the GEO is extremely important, especially if you think it may be difficult for you to visit Chestnut Hill College in person. 2. Schedule your campus visit

All international travelers are welcomed at Chestnut Hill College.  There is no better way to find out if Chestnut Hill College is a perfect fit for you than to visit the campus in person. There are plenty of campus visit options, and we look forward to meeting you and your family. We consider Philadelphia to be our extended campus. Contact the GEO to learn more about discounts on local travel and hotel accommodations.

3. Submit your application

Completing your application online is the quickest and most convenient method. You can also download and print the application from your computer or request to have one sent to your home address.

Deadlines:

  • Fall semester - completed applications required by June 1
  • Spring semester - completed applications required by December 1

4. Complete your application

If you've never attended an American college/university:
Once you have submitted your application, send a complete set of academic credentials in English translation (World Education Services or Educational Credential Evaluators). In addition, please submit an official score report for the TOEFL, or official SAT I or ACT results. If the SAT I and/or the ACT are not offered in your home country, please submit official results from the National Examination administered by your country's Ministry of Education.  We also strongly encourage you to submit a personal statement or writing sample.

If you are transferring from an American college/university: 

Once you have submitted your application, you should send official transcripts as soon as possible from all colleges/universities you have previously attended. Submitting your transcripts is the key to your admissions decision and transfer credit evaluation. Send in a transcript request form for help in obtaining your official college transcripts. If you have not yet completed 24 college credits, you will be required to submit your official high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores as well.

5. Send in the documents certifying your financial support

6. Submit your Enrollment Deposit

Upon acceptance to Chestnut Hill College, students should reserve their space for the upcoming semester by submitting a $500 resident enrollment deposit (living on campus) or a $300 non-resident enrollment deposit (living off campus). Contact the GEO to submit your deposit by credit card. Upon enrollment and approval of financial documents, the Global Education Office will send the official Form I-20. Enrollment deposits are non-refundable after May 1 for fall semesters and December 15 for spring semesters.
