Phi Theta Kappa
Chestnut Hill College welcomes all Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) graduates and offers an annual transfer scholarship of $17,000 to accepted PTK members! Alum Rebecca Berkowitz shares her dynamic experience as an Education major at Chestnut Hill College.
Dear Fellow PTK Members,
As a member of PTK, I want to describe to you the advantages I gained by choosing to attend Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia.
As Vice President of Leadership of PTK, I was highly involved on my community college campus so, naturally, I wanted the chance to enhance my experiences upon transferring. During my campus visit, personal interviews with the transfer coordinator and professors allowed me to discuss the transfer of credits to ensure that I would be able to graduate in two additional years.
Chestnut Hill College had all the characteristics that I loved about my community college with the rigor of academics that I craved. I was able to have the experience of attending a city school while living on the serene campus I called home. The discussion-based class settings and close-knit community allowed me to build a rapport with my professors and fellow students. It was easy for me to establish myself as a leader on campus due to the support that I received.
During my senior year, I worked with the Career Services Center to obtain a supervised internship with Global Education Motivators, a non-governmental organization centered on bringing the world into the classroom. I had the opportunity to work directly with United Nations officials to facilitate an international videoconference that was recognized by the Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in his statements about World Autism Awareness Day 2009. Today, as I pursue a graduate degree, I am still working alongside Global Education Motivators as a representative to the United Nations.
I refer to Chestnut Hill College as a hidden treasure. I encourage you to contact the Admissions Office at 215.248.7001 or email@example.com to learn more about its PTK scholarship program and upcoming events. You can begin your online application at www.chc.edu/apply.
I wish you the best in your search and hope to see you at Chestnut Hill!
