Music Student Audition process  

 

  • Contact Chestnut Hill College Admissions office
  • Specify interest in the Music Department programs
  • Follow procedures for application to the College 
  • Upon notification of acceptance to Chestnut Hill College contact Music Department Chair and arrange for an audition.

 

Audition dates for 2013 
March 17 at 12:00 noon
April 28 at 11:00

Other dates by appointment 

 

Audition Requirements: Major Instrumental and Voice

Instrumental  

Perform Major and three forms of minor scales played at least two octaves to your developmental level ( piano majors four octaves)

 

Voice  

Perform a technical study or warm-up selection

 

Instrumental and Voice  

Prepare two solo pieces from different style periods.
Provide two copies of the music to be performed
Complete a sight-reading melody
Complete a rhythmic dictation excerpt.
Complete a music theory test (This test is for placement)

The music audition will last approximately 60 to 90 minutes.
You will receive a letter of acceptance or further recommendations from the music department within two weeks of your audition.
